DJ’s Legacy Publishing House is an independent publisher of poetry, fiction and memoir. We exist to give honest writing a professional home, and to give the people who write it a real route into print.

Our mission is straightforward: to turn a finished manuscript into a published book, and an unknown writer into a working author. We carry a title the whole way — editing, design, production, distribution, marketing and launch — without asking the author to disappear behind a process they cannot see.

The house was founded by a writer who had been through it the hard way, and it was built to be the publisher he could not find. That principle still decides what we take on and how we work.

Today we publish in English and Spanish, in hardcover, paperback and audio, and our authors tour, appear and sell alongside one another rather than alone.

Editorial
A real read, then a real edit. We work on the manuscript with you rather than handing back a marked-up file and wishing you luck.
Design
Cover design and interior layout built for the book, and made to hold up as a thumbnail and on a shelf.
Production
ISBN, copyright registration and print setup handled by the house, in the formats your book actually needs.
Distribution
Your book listed and available to order, so a reader or a bookstore can find it without being sent to you directly.
Marketing
Launch planning, promotion and campaign management for authors who want readers, not just a printed book.
Launch and touring

One roster, not one author
Publishing with us means joining a group of working authors who promote, appear and sell alongside each other rather than competing for the same shelf.
Tour and appear together
Signings, readings and events are run as a house. A debut author gets in front of readers on the strength of the roster, not on their own following.
Workshops and craft
Our publication workshops are open to adults and children, and they run whether or not you ever sign a package with us.

Bookstores, libraries, schools and organizations order our titles directly, at pricing that scales with the size of the order.

Retailers carrying DJ’s Legacy on an ongoing basis work with us on trade terms rather than order by order.

We put authors in front of readers — signings, festivals, school visits and conference appearances, arranged by the house.

Built by an author
The house was founded by a writer who went through self-publishing twice. Everything we offer exists because it was missing the first time.
Open to first books
We publish debut authors. A first manuscript is not a disqualification here, it is most of what we read.
Clear terms
You will know what you are signing, what it costs, and what the house is responsible for, before you commit to anything.
Payment plans
Our packages can be paid across instalments, so the cost of publishing does not decide whether the book happens.
We stay after launch
A book is not finished when it is printed. We keep working it, and we keep working with the author.
Two languages

Jaelyn D. Jordan

Jaelyn D. Jordan started writing poetry at sixteen. Two attempts at self-publishing taught him how much of the work happens after the manuscript is finished, and how easily a first-time author is left to do all of it alone.

He founded DJ’s Legacy Publishing House to be the publisher he could not find: one that edits, designs, prints, distributes and launches a book, and stays with the author afterwards. He continues to write — the A Misguided Thought series is published by the house, in English, Spanish and audio.

His titles with the house
